Town awarded grant for sewer line project

The Town of Carnegie has been awarded a grant from the Oklahoma Department of Commerce for an infrastructure project. The project will involve replacing and upgrading sewer lines in several areas, mainly in the 300 & 400 blocks of East Main, First, Second, Third and Fourth street. More details will be available as the project gets closer to construction.

Construction on this project is expected to begin in 3 months, after appropriate environmental clearances and permits are obtained, as well as engineering work to be done. When these steps are complete, the Town will then advertise for bids for the work to be done as well as for appropriate materials needed.

For those residents living in the affected neighborhoods, this sewer line project should alleviate some of the problems associated with the sewer service in those areas, as the original sewer system was not sized adequately for the number of people that live in the area affected.
